Young Enterprise Gibraltar kicked off its 2025 Company Programme, where students launch and run real businesses. GFSB Board members attended the event, meeting young entrepreneurs who will develop products and services over the coming months in the hopes of winning the final on 21st May.

The EU mandates a minimum VAT rate of 15%, but there is no maximum. While Gibraltar has ruled out introducing VAT, the Government is considering either a sales tax or a transaction tax as part of a potential agreement with the EU. Both would have different impacts on businesses and consumers.

OFT’s New Home
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has relocated to newly refurbished premises in the same building, offering upgraded facilities to enhance its services to Gibraltar’s businesses and consumers.
The Ministry of Equality has launched its 2025 cycle of the Women’s Mentorship Programme, continuing its mission to support professional development and gender equality in the workplace. This initiative, supported by the GFSB’s Women in Enterprise (WIE), builds on its work since 2018, has benefited over 200 participants and tackled the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles across in Gibraltar.
