TSN Lawyers is thrilled to announce the appointment of three new associates, Joe Pitaluga, Seth Galia, and James Lavarello. After joining TSN as trainees in September 2022, the trio have successfully completed their practical training requirements and have excelled in their respective seats within the commercial, property, and litigation departments.
In addition to their hands-on experience, Joe, Seth, and James have demonstrated their commitment to professional development by successfully completing the Professional Skills Course with the University of Law. They have also achieved the Professional Certificate of Competence in Gibraltar Law from the University of Gibraltar.
A major milestone in their legal professional journey was reached in November 2023, as Joe Pitaluga, Seth Galia, and James Lavarello were officially called to the Gibraltar Bar. This accomplishment is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the comprehensive training provided by TSN.
Joe’s practice covers the full spectrum of work carried out by the firm and he accepts instructions in all areas of practice. He has a specific interest in litigation and assists Senior Members of the firm with all their contentious work. He is particularly interested in commercial disputes and has gained exposure to high-value, complex litigation during his time with TSN.
Before joining TSN, Joe completed a Masters in International Relations at New College, University of Oxford. He initially read Geography at the University of St. Andrews, during which time he also lived and studied abroad in Kyoto, Japan, with Harvard University. Joe then attended City, University of London, for the Graduate Diploma in Law and Bar Professional Training Course. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales with the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple as an Exhibition Scholar in 2020.
Seth specialises in corporate, banking, financial services, and insurance matters. Seth has acted for several of Gibraltar’s major banks, both retail and private, and regularly advises on corporate transactional matters such as acquisitions, disposals, and enforcements for international clients and institutions. Seth currently sits as a board member of the Law Council which is a statutory body formed under the Legal Services Act.
James joined the firm in September 2022 as a trainee solicitor. He was educated in Bayside Comprehensive School before going to Stonyhurst College where he obtained 3 A*s at A-level consequently making him a Gibraltar Scholar with distinction. He then went on to read law at the University of Leeds before passing his Legal Practice Certificate with a distinction in the University of Northumbria. Most recently James attained his professional certificate of Competence in Gibraltar Law which he completed in the University of Gibraltar having passed with distinction.
James was admitted, enrolled and approved as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Gibraltar in November 2023. He has completed all three of his commercial, property and litigation seats. James has worked on a wide range of matters in his first year with the firm and is now focusing on property law as well as taking a keen interest in construction law having already been involved in a number of construction projects in Gibraltar.
