Cross Border Networking Event

We recently hosted our first Cross-Border Business Networking Event, bringing together businesses from Gibraltar and La Línea de la Concepción to explore new opportunities ahead of the treaty’s implementation. Delivered in partnership with World Trade Center Gibraltar and Saccone and Speed, the event created a valuable space for connection, conversation and practical collaboration between the two business communities.

The evening highlighted the clear appetite on both sides of the border to build stronger commercial relationships, with attendees sharing insights, contacts and ideas that could help expand customer bases and strengthen supplier networks. It also reinforced the importance of creating regular opportunities for businesses to meet, particularly at a time when cross-border dynamics are evolving.

This was a positive first step and the beginning of a wider initiative. The GFSB will continue to build on this momentum over the coming weeks and months, with further events planned to deepen engagement and support long-term cross-border partnerships.

Could Gibraltar be missing a golden opportunity? GFSB Board Director Brian Ross believes the answer is yes. In this thought-provoking opinion piece, he argues that Gibraltar should consider a residency route for financially self-sufficient individuals, attracting experienced people with the wealth, expertise and international networks to strengthen our economy. Could this be the next step in keeping Gibraltar competitive?

For many SMEs, the success of the business has been built on the expertise, relationships and commitment of its owner.
