People, Plans and Progress…
Chairperson Owen Smith opened the meeting with a summary of key achievements, including the refurbishment of the Federation’s HQ, new strategic partnerships with justbank, Gibtelecom and TTMS, the introduction of the Glue Up platform, and the launch of the GFSB’s Strategic Plan.
He also outlined priorities for the coming year: more workshops, town hall-style events, and a renewed focus on advocacy. “We want to build on this momentum and give members more ways to connect, learn and be heard,” he said.
A changing board
A few Board members stepped down at the AGM, with Owen paying tribute to their service and contributions. Departing Directors include Janet Brear, Guy Povedano, Michaela Rees and Brian Ross.
The AGM also confirmed changes to the Board’s composition:
A fond farewell
The evening also marked the departure of Phoebe Kelly, the GFSB’s Business Manager. Owen thanked her for her energy and hard work over the past year.
Financials and future thinking
Daniel Delgado presented the draft 2023/24 accounts, which will be formally approved by the Board in due course.
Members then turned their attention to possible future projects – from new business support initiatives to policy work. The message was clear: the GFSB is growing, and its members want to be part of what comes next.
