Developing tools for confident, collaborative dialogue
The GFSB’s Women In Enterprise group will host its next breakfast event next Tuesday 21st April. It will be expertly delivered by Fiona Young and Sam Grimes who bring together almost 50 years (combined!) of employment law experience — and for once, they’ll be on the same side of the table.
In this rare joint session, they will share practical insights, real-life stories, and honest reflections on the highs and lows of workplace conversations.
Sam, a Partner at Isolas, has over 20 years’ experience advising businesses and organisations on employment law and workplace issues. She will explore the impact of poorly handled conversations, miscommunication, and the risks that can follow.
Fiona, a Consultant with Ramparts, has been a litigator for 25 years and a mediator for 12 of those, will focus on how to approach conversations positively — introducing practical tools and techniques to support more effective, collaborative and empathetic dialogue.
This engaging and interactive breakfast session is not to be missed. Supported and hosted by Isolas LLP, expect practical takeaways, real-world examples, and a fresh perspective on how better conversations can transform working relationships.

Freight Delays Bite
Imports including medicines, fresh produce and other commercial goods faced significant delays as businesses and Customs adjusted to the Treaty’s new frontier procedures, with some freight reportedly held since the arrangements began on 15 July. The disruption is the clearest early warning that documentation errors and unfamiliar processes can quickly affect stock availability, perishable goods and operating costs across Gibraltar’s retail and wholesale sectors.

Over the past two years, I must have written more words about the Treaty than almost any other subject. Through the Thrive EDIT, I've tried to cut through the politics and focus on what really matters to Gibraltar's business community. We've unpacked customs guidance, explained residency proposals, questioned support measures, covered Government announcements, highlighted members' concerns and, where necessary, asked awkward questions on your behalf. The aim has always been the same: to make one of the biggest economic changes in Gibraltar's history feel just a little easier to understand.
