Women’s Mentorship Returns
The Ministry of Equality has launched its 2025 cycle of the Women’s Mentorship Programme, continuing its mission to support professional development and gender equality in the workplace. This initiative, supported by the GFSB’s Women in Enterprise (WIE), builds on its work since 2018, has benefited over 200 participants and tackled the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles across in Gibraltar.
What’s the programme about?
The programme pairs women aged 18+ with experienced mentors for one-to-one guidance and group learning sessions. Its goal is to develop mentees’ skills and confidence, enabling them to aspire to management and leadership positions. The organisers emphasise that equitable representation isn’t just about fairness—it’s a smart business move, opening up a broader talent pool and strengthening the economy.

How to get involved?
- For mentees: Email meect@gibraltar.gov.gi by 24th January 2025.
- For mentors: Express interest via the same email and attend an orientation session before mentoring begins.

Freight Delays Bite
Imports including medicines, fresh produce and other commercial goods faced significant delays as businesses and Customs adjusted to the Treaty’s new frontier procedures, with some freight reportedly held since the arrangements began on 15 July. The disruption is the clearest early warning that documentation errors and unfamiliar processes can quickly affect stock availability, perishable goods and operating costs across Gibraltar’s retail and wholesale sectors.
