Meet AF Nutritional Therapy

This week, ThriveEDIT launches its new member Q&A series with Andrew Fortuna NT, a business supporting individuals and high performers through clinical and sports nutrition, lifestyle and fitness coaching, functional lab testing and health data.

It is a real-life example of the diverse expertise within the GFSB membership, and a chance to get to know the people and businesses helping Gibraltar’s community work, thrive and perform better.

What does your business do, in one sentence?

Clinical & sports nutrition, lifestyle and fitness coaching, supported by functional lab testing and health data, for individuals with or without diagnosed health conditions, and high performers.

What made you start, join or grow the business?

I identified potential opportunities in conventional healthcare, nutrition, and fitness, especially those dealing with chronic health issues looking to perform at a high level. I felt conventional healthcare often left in people dissatisfied and search for answers to their health concerns. I felt that providing a more personalised, evidence-informed approach could offer solutions, allowing people to better understand their bodies and how perform at their best without sacrificing long-term health, bridging the gap between clinical insight and practical real-world coaching.

What is one thing people might not know about what you do?

I feel people may be unaware that they can promptly arrange any private laboratory test in Gibraltar, or via my partnered labs in Spain, United Kingdom, and USA, without having to endure long waiting times, which can provide answers, greater clarity, personalised solutions, and peace of mind.

What has been your proudest business moment so far?

My proudest moment has been, that despite the Brexit challenges, iv still been able to cut back on advertising costs while still growing my client base through word-of-mouth. This shows that my business is gaining traction organically, with growth driven by expertise, trust and results, rather than marketing spend, which for me is a significant Key Performance Indicator.

What is one challenge you think many Gibraltar businesses are facing right now?

I think uncertainty is the biggest challenge facing Gibraltar businesses right now, especially around long-term planning and the evolving post-Brexit landscape. However, Gibraltar has always adapted through change, and local businesses are resilient and innovative by nature. Challenges often create opportunities to rethink, evolve and grow, that mindset is something I apply constantly in my own business and personal development.

What has being part of the GFSB community meant for your business?

From networking events, talks, meetings and latest updates (Thrive), it’s been a refreshing way of getting to know other members, learn what they and the GFSB have to offer, as well as having had opportunties to raise awareness about the work that I do and how it can benefit other GFSB members and their loved ones.

What’s one connection, opportunity or piece of support you’ve gained through the GFSB?

Being able to make use of the GFSB room hiring facilities has been incredibly valuable to discuss business matters with current or potential clients.

Last week, we shared a Treaty Readiness Survey with our members and the wider community to take a temperature check of how they feel with just over a month to go until July 15th. The results provide a useful snapshot of how Gibraltar businesses currently feel about Treaty implementation, with responses pointing to a business community that is engaged with the issue but still facing uncertainty around the practical implications.

OTWO and the Gibraltar Federation of Small Businesses (GFSB) are delighted to announce that Marble Arc has been named the winner of the 2026 World Environment Day Shop Window Competition, marking an impressive second consecutive victory for the business following its success in 2025.

Cyber security is often framed as a technology problem, but Matthew Baird argues the real risk is human behaviour. Using local fraud cases and real-life examples, he explores how criminals exploit trust, urgency and familiarity to trick individuals and businesses, and shares simple, practical steps to help spot and stop social engineering attacks.

Following the publication of HMGoG’s guidance on NIF and EORI registration requirements, the GFSB has produced a practical step-by-step playbook to help Gibraltar businesses navigate the process as clearly and confidently as possible. Over recent weeks, many members have contacted us with questions around whether they need a NIF or EORI number, what the process involves, and whether obtaining these registrations could create Spanish tax obligations.

After weeks of questions, confusion and growing concern amongst Gibraltar businesses, HM Government has now published formal guidance on NIF and EORI registration requirements linked to the future customs arrangements under the treaty. This is the clearest explanation yet of what these registrations are, who actually needs them, and perhaps most importantly, what they do not mean.
