Can you provide an overview of your professional background including key positions?
I am an Executive Coach and Consultant who has for the last 20 years been working with senior leaders and CEOs to build high-performing leadership teams. I specialise now in working with founders and CEO’s of smaller, fast growing businesses and start ups (within Gibraltar and beyond) – who operate through globally distributed teams – focussing on leadership, strategy, culture, communication and team effectiveness. I work across a variety of industries, including pharma, recruitment, biotech, insurance, engineering and gaming. I love the diversity this brings to my work. I also guide leaders through successful transitions into next level leadership roles, helping them navigate common pitfalls and obstacles. My goal is to support leaders, wherever they are, in excelling long-term by enhancing their leadership skills and mindset to create trusting, high-performing teams.
What are some of your personal interests or hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy being outdoors, whether on foot or on wheels, and am on an eternal quest to master surfing. I also have deep, longstanding connections to the food industry, which have fuelled my love of studying oenology.
Who are some individuals that have inspired you in your career, and why?
There’s no single answer; I truly believe we can learn something and be inspired by everyone around us, if we choose to.
What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced in your career, and what lessons have you learned from them?
Starting my own small business was a steep learning curve; there’s a lot to learn quickly, and you need to know and be able to do everything (including being your own tech support!). I love working with my clients, and the biggest area that I’m continually honing – like many passionate business owners – is prioritising what truly needs my focus (the important over the urgent) – and actually switching off. However, the journey continues to be incredibly rewarding, and I find immense satisfaction in the progress and results that my clients have achieved so far.
